SASSA and Postbank Announce Mandatory Card Replacement
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and Postbank have announced that all SASSA Gold Cards will stop working on 28 February 2025, regardless of the expiry date printed on the card. Social grant beneficiaries must replace their Gold Cards with the new Postbank Black Card before this deadline to continue receiving payments without interruption.

Where and How to Get Your New Postbank Black Card
To replace your SASSA Gold Card, visit your nearest Postbank site, which is conveniently located at major retail stores, including:
✅ Checkers
✅ Shoprite
✅ Pick n Pay
✅ Usave
✅ Boxer
What You Need to Bring
To receive your free Postbank Black Card, you must bring:
✔️ A valid South African ID or a temporary ID
❌ No card will be issued without these documents
Why Is This Important?
If you do not replace your SASSA Gold Card before 28 February 2025, you cannot access your grant payments. The new Postbank Black Cards offer a secure and reliable way for beneficiaries to receive grants.
